Electrician Finds Some Work

Electrician DannyDanny Murrillo has been out of work for almost 2 years.  An incredibly knowlegeable and talented electrician, Danny had no problem knocking out a simple electrical box and circuit for Christmas lights.  Danny was almost as excited for the work as the home owner was for his Christmas lights outlet.  Linkup-Now got to know Danny through the “Share a Need” blog on its home page.  This need was turned in by a friend of his, unknown by Danny at the time.  Danny received a call “out of the blue” and completed the job within just a few hours.  What a win-win story.  This is what happens (so quickly we might add) when we keep our ears and eyes open on a regular basis to the needs of others.  Thank you Danny for not only great work but also the opportunity for us to serve you in the process.

R U Kidding Me?

It’s been so exciting getting Linkup-now up and running.  And it has also been incredible meeting so many people who  have a heart to serve others.  What has struck me the most is how there are still so many who have such a hard time seeing the needs of others.  While most people will  always admit that there are needs everywhere, I guess they just choose not to see or try to address them.  They hope that somehow, magically those needs will just be met.  The challenge with Linkup-Now is going to be to educate others to see every person as one who might have a need and let the heart take it from there.  Take the “R U Kidding Me” challenge  and not only begin to see others through new lenses of serving but also help another do the same.  Let’s allow this web site to reach its fulfillment in connecting people in such an exponential way that this world becomes really small in a hurry.

It’s how we are wired

It’s been said about me that if you were to cut me that I would bleed serving people.  Well, I would have to agree to some extent.   Although I really don’t want anyone to actually cut me, I do believe that I am not the only one who sees the purpoe of meeting the needs of others through serving.  I once talked with a young man who chose to spend his summer taking a canoe down the Mississippi River to raise awareness for a cause close to his heart.  Another young person chose to walk a trail for almost 1500 miles for a similar cause.  Helping others is wired deep within us and allows us to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.  This desire to serve can look different for each person.

I believe it’s time to expand this awareness of serving in a collective way that makes this world a smaller place and meets the needs of others.  If you have a need or can meet a need with what you do have, this site is for you.  Let us add your heart to ours and connect people.  This state, country, and world will become a smaller and more personal place to live in.  And you will be a part of the bigger picture.  Life’s too short not to serve another.

I guess I was just tired of feeling as if I was not doing enough. So, this site is an effort to connect people with each other and to begin meeting the needs of of others. It’s time to get beyond a quick “I hope it works out for you” and get our hands dirty. Let us know if you agree and your idea of how we can connect people.
